VALVES AND THEIR APPLICATIONS

Valves are used by every segment of South African Industry for the control of fluids.

It is important that there should be a sound body of knowledge and skills available to users. It is just as critical for valve manufacturers and their distributors to have access to objective and professional training for their staff.

SAVAMA'S INVOLVEMENT

SAVAMA represents all the major and most of the minor manufacturers of valves and actuators. Their members have created a special training fund for the benefit of South African industry, the manufacturers themselves and all companies engaged in the marketing of valves and actuators.

Since 1989 the Training committee has yearly presented at various venues a Basic Valves Course, a Quarter-turn Valves Course and a Control Valves Course.  In June 2000 it was decided to suspend these courses and sponsor the development of a new "outcomes based" Valve Course complying with the requirements of the ETQA (Education and Training Quality Assurer) of our SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority).
