SOUTH AFRICAN VALVE AND ACTUATOR MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION (SAVAMA)

Formed in 1974, the organisation currently has 19 members who together account for approximately 80% of Valves and Actuators manufactured or assembled in South Africa.

Local manufacturers are credible suppliers of valves, able to meet international specifications, manufactured in most materials, capable of meeting the needs of the various industries, including the supply of spares and maintenance services in compliance with ISO 9001/2 quality systems.

Several members have been established in South Africa for over 40 years initially by overseas parent companies. Strong contacts with international companies have been maintained either through licence or agency agreements for the regional market.

Many of the smaller companies in the association have been formed by local entrepreneurs who have identified and provided solution for niche markets, particularly in mining applications. Their products have, in some cases, competed well in global markets as a result.

Regular meetings of the association are held under the auspices of the Steel and Engineering Federation of South Africa (SEIFSA) and general queries can be routed through to the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
